When it's time to sell your PM's where do you go?

It's pretty much impossible to guess when PM's will be at their high (if they ever go to the moon anyway) but when they do I have no idea where to sell my Gold and Silver. I would like to be able to sell within 24 houres and have the cash in my hands so no Ebay or other online stuff.

I'm thinking local dealer but I have only found 1 who sells AND buys.
Maybe I'm missing something but I assume there aren't many more options seeing my requirements.

From what I've learned the only reason the price would go up, up and away would be due to demand so it shouldn't be very hard to find a buyer :ok:

Add in fleamarkets and gun shows, look around now so you will know later who buys and sells.:ok:

Only one who both sells and buys? Really? So what do the others do, are they only selling and going out of business? I have heard of precious metals buyers who don't sell to the public, but never the other way around.

I'm talking Belgium here ... a country you can completely drive through in 2-3 houres. I've only managed to find 2 dealers and since i'm very new to PM, I don't have any connections in the PM community overhere (if there even is any)

I would say 90-95% of the people on this board live in the US or Canada.
I'm not too sure anyone here knows where you can sell PM's in Belgium and have cash within 24hrs.

Have your nearest seedy citizen point you to the underground bazzar free of the State and Gubberments tentacles.

A fine price will be paid for your metals.

Just make sure you go armmed.

O.K., and I'm really trying to help, but it still seems strange that your dealers wouldn't be buying as well as selling. They have to restock sometime and with so few dealers in Belgium it would seem they would have a buyers (and sellers) market. Anyway, then other than shipping it out, perhaps to the states, your best opportunity to sell would be to individuals like yourself over there.

You live in Belgium? Go over to Capitalstool Goldstool which is another message board and pose this question to a guy by the name of Ageka. Good luck. If you need help give me a pm OK?

Right now it is best to reach out and start slowly visiting all the shops around you. Buy a coin here and there. Make friends - start talking about them - ask them a few low-key things. Go back with-in a week and say hello.
(2)
Set-up a FEE-BAY account and try to sell something therein - learn the LINGO and the ways to do business. (EBAY) Especially if you have ENCAPULATED coins - as the Saints will be the new 2 to 3thousand dollar secret currency of tomorrow - I'll BET YA!
(3)
Follow the factually sound advice at the start of this message - it may sound strange - but there might have-to-be a black market evolving out there. If if does the prices double automatically.

You are dealing in the ULTIMATE currencies with no paper problems of any sort. You may be into barter. I.E. in 1922 Germany the shops were small and did one-to-one business. The front door was the paper money door and they were very sorry they were SOLD out.

However, the back door was the hard money door. A silver dime size in real silver was good for a loaf of bread; with gold you could buy a quarter of beef; get the picture? I read stories that those with gold and silver ATE real good! The rest starved!

Thanks! I registered, still waiting for account validation to send the PM.

Go to France, most banks will take care of you for cash. I would think even though it is a pain to travel it would be far safer than the underground market unless you are familiar with dealing there.

Any other countries around the world that anyone cares to mention?

TIA

Re: When it's time to sell your PM's where do you go?

My 2-cents...

I have set up at a number of flea markets to sell stuff that grandma and I no longer want...cleaning out the shed, garage, attic, store room, closets, drawers, etc. I also have been offering some gold and silver bullion & numismatic coins and bars that we want to find a new home.

Lots of folks come by and show interest in viewing because they have never seen bullion items before, but they don't exhibit any interest in buying anything; just seeing and pointing it out to their kids and adults in company.

Despite what you read here and hear at other places, only a comparative VERY few number of people of the general population in my experience are interest in acquiring physical gold and silver. This means that few people who visit flea markets have any interest in physical gold and silver. So if you're going to sell at flea markets and gun and other type "shows" under current metals/world crisis environment, it is important that you set up and sell at consecutive shows so that customers learn first-hand and indirectly by word of mouth, that you are there and are selling forms of Au and Ag.

Expect that other flea market dealers will be trying to buy your silver and gold items for next to nothing...so they can resell for profit.

Also expect that a number of flea market dealers at any place and time will be sciopaths who will steal without hesitation and without remorse. When you set up make sure that (1) all of your small/valuable items are in a locked display case, and (2) set out all valuable small items LAST so they are not on the table while you are occupied unpacking and setting out other items. Sciopathic dealers will be there early...they shop while other dealers are setting up so that they can find the best buys and can steal while a dealer is busy setting up and shoppers aren't there yet to maybe see them steal.

Down the road if/when Joe/Josephine 6-pack actually wakes up and wants to acquire metals, s/he will be scouring flea markets and gun and other shows. At this time it won't be quite as important that you are known to be at a market place on a certain day.

Another thing you don't want to do is to put an ad in the paper, because despite how careful you are in your dealing you will be minimally be setting yourself up to be followed and robbed soon or later at your home where your family will also be at risk.

Good luck!
